CueTheShow

A script becomes subtitle cues of about 8 words (12 at most). A new sentence always starts on a fresh screen.

A PDF needs selectable text. If yours is a scanned image, paste the text instead. You can edit any cue later (double-click it in the list). Wrap words in *asterisks* for italics and **double asterisks** for bold. Italics already in the PDF carry over automatically.

Title and credits

The title card shows on the projector before the first cue. The credits card shows one step past the last cue. Leave a field empty to skip it.

Running a show in three steps

1. Music: add your audio files, then drag the ⠿ handle on each row to put them in show order (dragging works with a finger too). Each cue has its own volume, fades, loop and timing settings (✎). At show time, hit GO (⏎) for each cue. A new cue in group A replaces the old one; groups B, C and D play alongside; an "on top" cue is never replaced. Each row shows how long the cue runs. While a track is playing, click or drag anywhere on its row to move through it; in music-only mode ← and → nudge it by 5 seconds. While anything is paused, GO turns into Continue and picks that track back up instead of starting the next cue.
2. Subtitles (optional): switch Mode to Music + subtitles in SETUP, then drop a script PDF or paste text. It becomes cues of about 8 words each. *italic*, **bold**. A music cue can be linked to a subtitle line. SETUP → Title & credits puts a title card on the projector before the first cue and a credits card one step past the last.
3. Show time: with subtitles, click Projector view and drag that window to the projector. Double-click it for fullscreen. The keys: The big buttons run everything: GO for music, Next ▶ for subtitles.

Volume: the master level controls everything playing at once. In music-only mode it is the tall slider down the left edge; otherwise it is the Vol row under the buttons. The 50% button halves that level in one tap and then reads 100%, so a second tap takes you back to full.

When a cue should get quieter: there are two ways, and the difference is what causes the change. If another sound is the reason, set While this plays, lower other tracks to on the cue that interrupts: everything else drops while it sounds and comes back when it ends. If the clock is the reason, set Then change to on the cue itself and give it a number of seconds: that cue moves to the new level on its own, and a second change appears once you use the first. Either way, nobody has to touch a fader during the show.

Second screen: Projector view opens the output on this machine. To use another machine as the screen: open cuetheshow.com there and choose use this screen as a display at the bottom of the page. A 4-letter code appears on it. Enter that code here under SETUP → Cast to display. Cues follow instantly, both ends reconnect on their own, and a refreshed display comes back by itself with the same code. Leaving display mode mid-show asks first, so a stray key cannot take the screen down.

Everything is saved in this browser and restores when you reopen. Switch or add shows from the show name in the top bar. ⇩ on a show card makes one file with script, music, audio and the show position. On the other machine, ⇪ Import show file (or dropping the file anywhere on the shows screen) brings it in and resumes where you were: that is the emergency move from one machine to another, mid-show if it comes to that.
